{Freebie} Room & Board Fabric Samples

I visited Sal Beressi Fabrics Company on Saturday and was quickly paralyzed by all the upholstery options available.  Luckily, Room & Board was only a few blocks away.  So I took a detour, got inspired, and collected a few sample swatches before braving Sal Beressi's stock room again.

My favorites from R&B are: 1. Tatum - Salt, 2. Doria - Charcoal, 3. Doria - Haze, 4. Trip - Cememt, 5. Trip Linen, 6. Trip - Spa, 7. Trip - Natural

You can also order these and other fabulous R&B swatches online.

{Loot} Upholstery Tools

It was better than back-to-school shopping.  Introducing my sparkling new upholstery tools: 1. tailor measuring tape, 2. webbing stretcher ($28), 3. curved round point needle ($4), 4. straight round point needle ($11), 5. magnetic tack hammer ($32), 6. t-pins ($1), 7. safety goggles, 8. sewing shears, 9. tack lifter ($14), 10. pencil, 11. long nose pliers, 12. staple remover ($13)

I got everything at Keyston Bros in San Francisco because I needed them this week for class, but most items can also be bought online. Now only if I can find a cute lunch pail to hold these goodies.

{Project} Dux Lounger

01: Project #1 found! I hope Teacher Ashley approves this as a beginner upholstery chair.  I've already picked a spot for it in my office (home office that is).  It is a Dux lounger – $70 from craigslist.  The fabric is actually in good condition, but the frame needs a little TLC, and it is missing an arm piece.  I am thinking... grey herringbone?
